Description: | Sing It Loud invite you to join them at a special Best of British themed concert to raise money for veterans charity Combat Stress. The concert will celebrate the centenary of the end of World War 1 as well as 2018 being a great year to be British, with two royal weddings and three royal babies on the way! This will be a musical celebration of what it means to be British; the landscape, the people and their achievements. In a varied programme, Sing It Loud will perform a range of songs by British composers or artists, from Elgar to Blur, Handel to Rag'n'Bone Man, even some James Bond thrown in for good measure! We will also sing all the usual Last Night of the Proms favourites, so come along ready to join in with “Rule, Britannia”, “Land of Hope & Glory” and “Jerusalem”! Sing It Loud are an award winning 80-strong singing group, supported by an 35-piece orchestral and electric band, who perform locally in the Warwickshire area raising money for charity. Combat Stress is dear to their hearts as several their group are ex-Military, and some have personal experience of dealing with mental health issues after their service. Combat Stress is the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, they’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health problems such as anxiety, depression and post- traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They provide a range of free services at their treatment centres and through their community teams, including short-stay clinical treatment, a specialist PTSD Intensive Treatment Programme and a 24 hour support line. |
